Standard safety practice is one babysitter for every 3 children in care, and no more than 2 children per sitter if any of them is under 24 months old. We enforce this as a hard limit.

Payment

Payments are processed securely through Paystack. You pay the booking total once, upfront, by card — all you need is your bank card. Your receipt goes to the email address you gave above.

Please book at least 4–6 hours ahead where possible — same-day requests are still accepted and matched on a best-effort basis, but availability that close to the requested time isn't guaranteed.

Day bookings end by 18:00. We keep that limit because the finish time decides how your babysitter gets home, and she travels at her own cost. A later finish is available on Level 3 and above only, and you must choose how she gets home.

How will your babysitter get home? I will pay for door-to-door e-hailing (Bolt, Uber or similar) to her home address, at my cost — not hers. It is tracked and receipted. She drives her own vehicle — only available when you have selected a specific babysitter whose vehicle registration we hold and have verified.

Evening bookings are charged for a minimum of five hours, even when you need fewer. A 19:00 to 22:00 date night is three hours of care billed as five — and your babysitter is paid on the five. That is what makes a short evening slot worth her while, and it is why we can offer one at all. You will see the exact total in the quote below before you commit.

The care window itself must be at least 2.5 hours. Since nothing may finish after 22:00, the latest an evening booking can start is 19:30.

Prefer not to arrange either? Choose a finish at or before 18:00, or book this as an overnight booking — she then stays over and does not travel home at night at all.

Babysitters are not permitted to administer any medicine to a child under any circumstances, and may only perform duties directly related to caring for the child (feeding, bathing, comforting, play, and supervision as requested above) — never general household cleaning or chores. If a family or babysitter breaks either rule, Elite Traders Lounge is not held liable for the consequences.

Who else, if anyone, will be at the address during this booking? (optional, but please be complete)

Please read this before you book: the children must be present.

A babysitter is booked for one purpose — caring for the children named in this booking. If she arrives and the children are not at the address, and the only person there is an adult, the booking does not begin. She is entitled to leave immediately and entitled to the full babysitter fee, and she does not have to wait, come inside, or give a reason.

If that happens, the booking fee is not refunded to you — no part of it, including the platform administration fee. The same applies if she leaves because she feels unsafe or because this declaration is being broken, and her report is upheld. This is set out in full in Section 6.1.1 of our Policies and is separate from the ordinary cancellation refund tiers.

I confirm the Sitter Safety & Human Rights Declaration on behalf of my household — everyone who will be present has been disclosed above and will treat the babysitter with dignity and respect. I understand the children must be present, and that if the babysitter leaves because they are not, or because she feels unsafe, she is paid in full and my booking fee is not refunded. (required)

A R499 yearly fee covers your identity and document verification. It is separate from the platform fee shown in your quote above. This fee is non-refundable once verification has begun, and is charged annually, once every 12 months, to keep your identity details current — if you've paid within the last year, our team will confirm this and you won't be asked to pay again until it's due.
